As reported by the Baltimore Sun , the incident happened on Tuesday ( 05/28/2013 ) afternoon local time . The cargo train derailed near the lake in an industrial area .
Train reportedly overturned and caused a loud explosion . The fire seemed to emerge from a string of train cars derailed and trigger black smoke in the air . Even some of the buildings around it collapsed , but the train did not crash into the building.
" Me and a couple of dogs immediately jumped . Drapery and a neighbor said his house blown up and off , " said an eyewitness .
Another witness who mentions the incident as a bomb blast . " Even more powerful than the earthquake , " one witness said .
Local authorities are now handling at the site and investigating the cause slipping of the train . It is feared that there are harmful chemicals spilled .
